Networking
The ‘Heart of Newhaven’ is a community hub that helps and supports various groups and people.
'Networking' focuses on three different groups that meet up at the Heart of Newhaven, looking at how relevant a sense of community is and the importance of helping people socialise and battle loneliness.
Knit and Natter is a group that meets every week to have a blether and well, knit. They give out new projects every year to encourage and teach new people to knit as well as giving people a safe place to relax and chat. They've even encouraged me to take up knitting!
The Leith Men’s Shed is a charity group that helps men avoid loneliness and isolation and helps them engage with other men and the local community. The group offers various activities with the most prominent being the Repair Shed.
The Ukrainian Spiders is a support group that makes camouflage netting. The nets get sent over to Ukraine to help with the war effort. As well as that, the group provides a safe space to support and engage with each other.
